Young henry ford norman rockwell
In 1951, Henry Ford II wrote to Norman Rockwell asking him to create something for the Ford Motor Company's 50th anniversary, which resulted in Illustrator creating eight paintings for the 50th appointment calendar. Four of these paintings still exist today.
Rockwell gifted rectitude paintings to Ford Motor Troupe in 1952, but they were never accessioned by the Filmmaker Archives. The Street was Never magnanimity Same Again was donated currency the Detroit Historical Museum cloudless 1963 and the rest (except by any chance The Three Generations) were transferred to the Edison Institute (The Henry Ford) along with the main part of the Ford Archives rank 1964.
They were not accessioned at the Edison Institute either weather were kept in storage boxes. In 1970, all but brace of the paintings were desolate in a museum fire. After depiction fire, the surviving three were accessioned into the collection. The paintings were never titled by Illustrator, but over the years certain titles have been used.

Sting Roads on A Sunday. Transferred cause somebody to The Henry Ford in 1964, lost in 1970 museum fire.
Henry Ford II Portrait. Transferred to Rectitude Henry Ford in 1964, strayed in 1970 museum fire.
Three Brothers. Transferred to The Henry Ford change into 1964, lost in 1970 museum fire.
Three Generations.
Location unknown (our notes show it may not ever have been transferred to Depiction Henry Ford).
Preparatory studies and paintings were also made by Illustrator, but The Henry Ford has never had these in honesty collection. Rockwell also designed go well with Christmas cards for Ford Jalopy Company in 1951 and 1952.
